Possible Causes
Clogged pre-filter, Blocked HEPA exhaust filter, Dust sensor contamination, Faulty airflow sensor on main PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off and remove the battery before removing filters.
- Remove and clean pre-filter: Take out the pre-filter (foam or mesh). Tap it gently to remove dust. If washable, rinse with lukewarm water and let it dry completely for at least 24 hours.
- Clean HEPA filter: Remove the HEPA cartridge. Tap off loose dust. If the manual allows, rinse under running water from the clean side out. Do not use detergents. Dry thoroughly before reinstalling.
- Clean sensor area: Some Xiaomi models have a dust/airflow sensor near the cyclone or exhaust. Use a soft brush or compressed air to gently clean any visible sensor openings.
- Reset filter indicator: If your model has a filter reset function (button or app), perform the reset after cleaning.
- If E8 persists with clean filters: The airflow sensor or main PCB may be faulty. Continued use is possible if suction is normal, but for proper operation the sensor board or main PCB should be replaced.
