Possible Causes

Over‑discharged Li‑ion battery pack, Internal battery cell imbalance, Battery management PCB fault, Over‑current event latched in protection circuit

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Switch the vacuum OFF, remove any detachable battery pack, and disconnect the charger from the mains before inspecting anything. Do not open the battery pack casing.

  • Check battery charge level: Insert the battery fully until it clicks. Press the power trigger once. If the E1 indication appears with only one LED blinking, place the battery on the original Zanussi charger for at least 3–4 hours.
  • Reset protection: Remove the battery from the vacuum, leave it disconnected for 5–10 minutes, then reconnect it to the charger. After a full charge cycle, refit it to the vacuum and test again.
  • Inspect battery contacts: Examine the metal contacts on the battery and in the handle/battery bay for dust, corrosion, or deformation. Clean gently with a dry cloth; do not use liquids. Ensure the pack locks firmly into place.
  • Try another outlet/charger: Plug the Zanussi charger into a different wall socket. If available, test with a known‑good Zanussi charger of the same model.
  • Stop if battery overheats or swells: If the battery becomes very hot, emits smell, or appears swollen, discontinue use immediately and replace the battery pack. Do not puncture or open it.

If E1 persists after a full charge and contact cleaning, the internal battery management PCB or cells are likely faulty. Replacement of the complete battery pack is recommended; internal repair should be done only by a qualified technician.
