Dishwasher has power but will not start a cycle; Start button does nothing or just beeps.

Safety first: Turn off power before adjusting the door latch or removing the door panel.

• Check door closure: Ensure the door closes firmly and is not obstructed by protruding dishes or racks.
• Inspect latch hook: Look at the metal or plastic latch on the top of the tub and the corresponding catch on the door. If bent or broken, it may not engage the switch.
• Listen for click: When closing the door, you should hear a distinct click from the door lock. If not, the lock may be faulty.
• Replace door lock assembly: If the microswitch inside the lock has failed, replace the complete door lock assembly with an AEG-compatible part.
