Possible Causes
Partially blocked inlet filter, Restricted Aquacontrol inlet hose, Faulty flow meter on side water matrix, Faulty pressure sensor on AEG dishwasher
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and close the water tap before working on the appliance.
- Clean inlet filters: Remove the inlet hose from the tap and from the dishwasher. Take out the mesh filters at both ends and clean thoroughly under running water.
- Check hose routing: Ensure the Aquacontrol hose is not kinked behind the cabinet or crushed by the dishwasher feet.
- Run a test cycle: Reconnect everything, open the tap fully, and run a quick program. Listen for steady filling; if the machine fills in short bursts or stops early, the flow meter or pressure sensor may be misreading.
- Inspect side water matrix (if fitted): On many AEG models, a plastic water matrix on the left side controls filling. If you see heavy limescale or sludge through the side panel, it may be restricted and require cleaning or replacement.
- Call a professional if needed: Replacing the flow meter or pressure sensor involves removing side panels and working near live wiring; use an AEG-authorized technician if unsure.
