Possible Causes
Failed flow-through heater, Faulty NTC temperature sensor, Wiring fault between heater and control board, Faulty heater relay on AEG main PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect mains power and allow the machine to cool before working on it.
- Reset the appliance: Unplug for 10–15 minutes, then reconnect and run a short cycle. If i60 returns, proceed with checks.
- Check for obvious wiring damage: Remove the kick plate and inspect the wiring to the heater assembly (often integrated with the circulation pump) for burns or loose connectors.
- Observe cycle behavior: If cycles complete but dishes are cold and wet, the heater may be open-circuit. If the machine stops with very hot steam, the sensor or control may be faulty.
- Heater and NTC testing (advanced): With the unit unplugged, measure resistance of the heater and NTC sensor according to AEG specifications. Replace any component that is open, shorted, or out of range.
- Control board diagnosis: If heater and sensor test OK, the heater relay or control board may be defective and should be replaced by a technician.
