Safety first: Unplug the dishwasher before disconnecting hoses.

• Clean filters and sump: Remove and clean all filters. Check the sump for debris.
• Check drain hose installation: Ensure the hose forms a high loop and is not inserted too far into the sink trap, which can cause backflow.
• Inspect sink trap: Remove and clean the sink trap and its dishwasher connection spigot. Many traps have a small plug that must be knocked out when first installed; ensure it is open.
• Test drain function: Run a drain-only or quick program and observe whether water is pumped out strongly into the sink drain.
• Replace pump if weak: If the pump runs but flow is weak and all hoses are clear, the drain pump may be worn and require replacement.
