Dishwasher powers on but will not start a program; Start button does nothing and no error code is shown.

Safety first: Ensure hands are dry when operating the control panel.

• Check door closure: Close the door firmly until you hear the latch click. Try pressing in the center of the door while pressing Start.
• Child lock: Some Balay models have a child lock. Look for a key symbol on the display. To deactivate, press and hold the indicated button combination (refer to user manual) for several seconds.
• Reset appliance: Turn the dishwasher off, wait 1 minute, then turn it back on and reselect the program.
• Inspect control panel: If some buttons work and others do not, the touch panel or keypad may be faulty and require replacement.
• Door switch: If the machine behaves as if the door is open, the door lock switch may be defective and should be replaced.
