Possible Causes
Defective flow meter in water matrix, Broken or stuck flow meter turbine, Wiring fault between flow meter and control board, Limescale or debris blocking flow meter
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dishwasher and close the water tap.
- Access flow meter: Remove the left side panel to access the water matrix. The flow meter is usually integrated into this assembly with a small electrical connector.
- Check connector: Ensure the flow meter plug is firmly connected and free of corrosion.
- Clean water matrix: If visible, clean any heavy deposits around the flow meter area. Running a descaling cycle can help.
- Advanced test: With the appliance unplugged, check continuity of the flow meter coil. If open circuit, the flow meter is defective.
- Replace if needed: Replace the water matrix/flow meter assembly with a compatible Balay part. This may require transferring hoses and seals; if unsure, call a technician.
