Possible Causes
Foreign object in circulation pump, Stiff or seized pump bearings, Impeller damaged or jammed, Excessive foam causing cavitation
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and close the water tap.
- Check for foam: Open the door during operation. If you see excessive foam, you may be using the wrong detergent or too much. Rinse out the tub by running a rinse cycle without detergent.
- Inspect sump: Remove filters and the sump cover. Look for glass, bones, or plastic pieces that could have reached the pump inlet.
- Access circulation pump: Lay the dishwasher on its back, remove the base cover, and locate the circulation pump. Check if the impeller turns freely.
- Clear obstruction: Remove any debris around the impeller. Do not force it if it is seized; the pump may need replacement.
- Test run: Reassemble and run a short cycle. If E21 returns, replace the circulation pump.
