Possible Causes
Drain pump motor coil open or shorted, Burnt pump connector, Wiring harness damage, Control board triac failure for drain pump
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dishwasher and close the water tap.
- Check for blockage first: Clean filters and inspect the sump and pump inlet for debris as described for E22.
- Access drain pump: Lay the dishwasher on its back and remove the base cover. Locate the drain pump attached to the sump.
- Inspect wiring: Check the pump connector for burns or loose contacts. Reseat the connector.
- Advanced test: With the appliance unplugged, measure the resistance of the pump coil. An open circuit or very low resistance indicates a faulty pump.
- Replace pump: If defective, replace the drain pump with a compatible Balay unit. Ensure all seals and clamps are correctly refitted to prevent leaks.
