Possible Causes
Defective circulation pump motor, Jammed impeller, Burnt wiring or connector at pump, Faulty start capacitor (if fitted)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dishwasher and close the water tap.
- Listen for pump: Start a program and listen during the wash phase. A loud hum with no water movement suggests a jammed or failed pump.
- Check for obstructions: Remove filters and inspect the sump inlet to the circulation pump for foreign objects. Remove any debris carefully.
- Access pump: Lay the dishwasher on its back and remove the bottom panel. Locate the circulation pump attached to the sump. Check the impeller for free movement by hand (with power disconnected).
- Inspect wiring: Look for burnt connectors or damaged wires at the pump terminals.
- Replace pump: If the impeller is seized or the motor windings test open/short with a multimeter, replace the circulation pump assembly.
