Possible Causes
Defective flow meter in water inlet system, Blocked water softener or inlet channel, Faulty inlet valve, Wiring issue between flow meter and control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dishwasher and close the water tap.
- Verify supply and hose: Confirm water tap is open and inlet hose is not kinked. Clean the inlet filter as described for F1.
- Check for internal leaks: Remove the left side panel (on many Bauknecht models) to access the water matrix / distribution chamber and flow meter. Look for heavy limescale or blockages in the channels.
- Clean water matrix: If accessible, flush the water matrix and softener inlet with warm water and a descaling solution to remove deposits that may prevent the flow meter from turning.
- Inspect wiring: Ensure the small harness from the flow meter to the main control board is firmly connected and not damaged.
- Component replacement: If water flows physically but the machine still reports F6, the flow meter or inlet valve assembly may be defective and should be replaced.
