Possible Causes
Water leak into base tray, Stuck float switch in base, Cracked sump or hose, Loose hose clamp
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dishwasher and close the water tap. Be prepared for water spillage when tilting the appliance.
- Check for leaks: Carefully pull the dishwasher out and tilt it slightly backward or to the side. If water pours from the base, the anti-flood float has been triggered.
- Dry the base: Remove the bottom panel (if fitted) and soak up all water from the base tray with towels or a sponge. Allow the area to dry completely.
- Inspect float switch: Locate the polystyrene float and microswitch in the base. Ensure the float moves freely and the switch is not stuck or corroded.
- Find leak source: Run a short cycle with side panels removed and observe for drips from the sump gasket, circulation pump, hoses, or door seal. Tighten hose clamps and replace cracked components as needed.
- Reassemble and test: Once the leak is fixed and the base is dry, reconnect power and run a full cycle to confirm F8 is cleared.
