Possible Causes

Failed drying fan motor, Blocked air duct, Faulty vent flap, Wiring fault to fan

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the dishwasher before accessing the top or side panels.

  • Confirm symptom: Check if dishes are consistently wet and cool at the end of the cycle along with E12.
  • Locate drying fan: On many Baumatic models, the drying fan is mounted on the side or top of the tub with an air duct to the door.
  • Inspect vents: Check the internal vent in the door for blockages from labels, plastic, or grease. Clean with warm soapy water.
  • Check fan operation: During the drying phase, listen for the fan. If silent, access the fan assembly and check for free rotation and secure wiring.
  • Replace fan: If the motor is seized or open-circuit, replace the drying fan assembly. If E12 persists, the control board may not be powering the fan correctly.
