Possible Causes
Small internal leak, Loose hose clamp, Cracked sump or tub, Faulty base float switch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dishwasher and close the water tap. Be prepared for water spillage.
- Check base tray: Pull the dishwasher out and tilt slightly to see if water drains from the base. Dry the base tray thoroughly.
- Inspect hoses and sump: Remove side and bottom panels. Check all hoses, the sump, and the circulation pump seal for signs of leaks or mineral trails.
- Tighten and reseal: Tighten any loose hose clamps and replace any perished seals or cracked hoses.
- Check float switch: Ensure the base float moves freely and the microswitch is not stuck in the activated position.
- Test run: Run a short cycle while observing for leaks. If E17 returns and no obvious leak is found, the base float switch or tub may be defective and require professional assessment.
