Possible Causes

Blocked drain filter, Blocked or kinked drain hose, Clogged sink waste connection, Faulty drain pump

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power at the mains before accessing internal parts. Water may be hot.

  • Clean filters: Open the door, remove the lower basket, and take out the coarse and fine filters from the sump. Rinse thoroughly under hot water and remove any food debris or glass.
  • Check sump area: Look into the sump for foreign objects (bones, glass, labels) that could obstruct the pump impeller. Remove carefully.
  • Inspect drain hose: Check the Baumatic drain hose behind the machine for kinks or crushing. Ensure it rises in a loop and then connects to the sink trap or standpipe correctly.
  • Check sink connection: If connected to a sink spigot, remove the hose and check for blockages in the spigot or trap. Clean as needed.
  • Test drain: Reassemble, restore power, and run a drain or quick program. If you still get E2 and you can hear only a faint hum or no pump noise, the drain pump may be seized or failed and will likely need replacement.
