Possible Causes
Faulty pressure switch, Blocked pressure chamber or air hose, Sticking water inlet valve, Control board sensing error
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and close the water tap before opening panels.
- Reset and observe: Cancel the program, power off for 5 minutes, then restart a short cycle. If the dishwasher appears to overfill or water level is unusually high, proceed with checks.
- Clean filters and sump: Blockages can affect water level sensing. Remove and clean all filters and check the sump for debris.
- Inspect pressure system: On many Baumatic models, a small plastic pressure chamber and thin hose run to a pressure switch. Remove the side panel, locate the chamber and hose, and clean out any sludge or grease. Ensure the hose is not kinked or split.
- Check inlet valve: If water continues to enter even when the machine is off, the inlet valve is stuck open and must be replaced immediately.
- Professional diagnosis: If cleaning does not resolve E5, the pressure switch or control board may be faulty and should be tested and replaced by a technician.
