Possible Causes

Faulty diverter valve motor, Jammed diverter mechanism, Wiring fault to diverter, Control board error

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power and close the water supply.

  • Check spray arms: Ensure both upper and lower spray arms rotate freely and are not blocked. Remove and clean jets under running water.
  • Listen during wash: If you hear intermittent clicking or the spray pattern seems wrong (only top or bottom washing), the diverter may be stuck.
  • Access diverter: On many Baumatic models, the diverter valve is integrated into the sump or circulation pump outlet. Remove the bottom cover and locate the small motor/valve assembly with wiring.
  • Inspect for obstruction: Check for debris around the diverter mechanism. Remove any foreign objects carefully.
  • Replace diverter: If the motor does not operate or the valve is physically damaged, replace the diverter valve assembly. If E9 persists after replacement, the control board may require service.
