Possible Causes
Dirty turbidity sensor window, Faulty optical sensor, Loose sensor connector, Wiring harness damage
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dishwasher before accessing the sump area from below.
- Locate the turbidity sensor: On many Becken dishwashers, the turbidity sensor is mounted on the side of the sump with a clear plastic window into the wash water.
- Clean the sensor: Remove the sensor (usually twists out) and clean the optical window with warm soapy water and a soft cloth. Avoid scratching the surface.
- Inspect connections: Check the sensor plug for moisture or corrosion. Dry and reseat firmly.
- Check wiring: Follow the harness from the sensor to the control board, looking for pinched or damaged wires.
- Replace if faulty: If cleaning and wiring checks do not clear E13, the sensor itself may be defective and should be replaced.
A faulty turbidity sensor can affect cycle times and water usage; address promptly for best performance.
