Possible Causes
Partially blocked drain hose, Obstructed sink trap connection, Weak drain pump, Air lock in drain hose routing
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before working on hoses or the pump.
- Clean filters and sump: Remove and clean all filters. Check the sump for debris that could restrict flow to the pump.
- Inspect drain hose routing: Ensure the Becken dishwasher drain hose has a proper high loop and is not kinked or crushed.
- Check sink connection: Disconnect the hose from the sink trap or disposal and clear any blockage. If recently installed, ensure the knockout plug in the disposal inlet has been removed.
- Test drain performance: Place the hose into a bucket and run a drain cycle. A weak or intermittent flow suggests a failing pump.
If cleaning and hose adjustments do not resolve E18, the drain pump may need replacement.
