Safety first: Disconnect power and allow the appliance to cool before working near the motor.

Clean spray arms: Remove upper and lower spray arms. Rinse under running water and clear any blocked jets with a toothpick.
Inspect sump: Remove filters and check the sump for broken glass, bones, or plastic that could enter the pump.
Access pump: From the base, remove the circulation pump and inspect the impeller and housing for obstructions. Ensure the impeller spins freely.
Check for overheating: If the pump is very hot or shows signs of discoloration, the motor may be failing.

If cleaning does not resolve E20, replace the circulation pump assembly.

Dishwasher shows E20 and may stop during circulation; sometimes accompanied by unusual pump noises.
