Possible Causes
Open or shorted NTC sensor, Corroded NTC connector, Damaged wiring harness between NTC and control board, Faulty control board input
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the dishwasher from mains power before removing panels.
- Locate the NTC sensor: On many Becken dishwashers, the NTC is mounted in the sump or integrated with the heater/pump assembly at the base.
- Inspect connections: Remove the lower front or side panel to access the sensor. Check the plug and wiring for corrosion, moisture, or loose pins. Clean and reseat the connector.
- Resistance test (advanced): With the sensor disconnected and the appliance unplugged, measure resistance across the NTC terminals using a multimeter. At room temperature, it should typically read between 10–50 kΩ and change smoothly if warmed slightly. Infinite or near-zero resistance indicates a faulty sensor.
- Check harness continuity: If the sensor tests good, check continuity from the sensor connector to the control board connector to rule out broken wires.
- Replace faulty parts: Replace the NTC sensor if defective. If wiring and sensor are good, the main control board may be at fault and require replacement.
Temperature sensor diagnosis requires careful handling; if unsure, consult a professional.
