Possible Causes
Dirty turbidity sensor window, Faulty turbidity sensor, Wiring issue between sensor and control board, Heavy grease buildup in sump
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before removing any panels or sensors.
- Run a cleaning cycle: First, run an empty hot cycle with a dishwasher cleaner or a cup of white vinegar in the bottom to remove grease and film.
- Clean sensor area: Remove the lower spray arm and filters. Inspect the clear plastic window in the sump (where the sensor reads). Clean it gently with a soft brush and hot soapy water.
- Access sensor: From underneath, locate the turbidity sensor clipped into the sump. Disconnect the wiring plug, remove the sensor, and clean any deposits from its lens.
- Check wiring: Inspect the harness for damage or corrosion. Reseat connectors firmly.
- If E05 persists: Replace the turbidity sensor. If the fault remains after replacement, the main control board may be defective and should be diagnosed by a technician.
