Possible Causes
Defective door latch switch, Misaligned door latch, Broken latch mechanism, Wiring fault between latch and control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the dishwasher before working on the door assembly.
- Check door closure: Ensure the door closes firmly and is not obstructed by dishes or racks. Listen for a distinct click when closing.
- Inspect latch strike: Check the metal or plastic strike on the cabinet for bending or misalignment. Adjust slightly if needed so it engages the latch fully.
- Access door lock: Remove the inner door panel screws and carefully separate the inner and outer door to expose the latch assembly.
- Test switch: Use a multimeter to check continuity of the door switch when the latch is engaged. Replace the door lock assembly if the switch is intermittent or open.
- Check wiring: Inspect the harness from the latch to the control board for broken conductors, especially where it flexes at the top of the door.
