Possible Causes
Misaligned door latch, Failed door lock switch, Broken latch strike on cabinet, Damaged wiring to door lock assembly
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before removing the door panel.
- 1. Check door closure: Ensure the dishwasher is properly leveled and pushed fully into the cabinet so the door closes squarely. Adjust the front leveling feet if needed.
- 2. Inspect latch and strike: Open the door and examine the metal or plastic strike on the tub and the latch mechanism in the door. Look for bending, cracks, or wear.
- 3. Test door switch: Remove the inner door panel to access the door lock assembly. With a multimeter, test the switch for continuity when the latch is engaged. Replace the door lock assembly if the switch does not close.
- 4. Check wiring harness: Inspect the harness where it passes through the door hinge area for pinched or broken wires.
Do not bypass the door switch for safety reasons. Replace faulty components instead.
