Possible Causes
Faulty water softener valve, Blocked salt tank or brine chamber, Defective regeneration flow meter, Incorrect water hardness setting in control
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and avoid contact with sharp edges when accessing internal components.
- 1. Check salt level: Open the salt reservoir cap (usually in the tub floor) and ensure it is filled with dishwasher salt. Top up if low and wipe away any spilled salt.
- 2. Verify hardness setting: Refer to the Bertazzoni user manual to enter programming mode and confirm the water hardness setting matches your local water hardness.
- 3. Inspect softener valve: Access the side of the dishwasher to locate the water softener valve and brine chamber. Check for kinks or blockages in the small hoses.
- 4. Clean brine chamber: If accessible, flush the brine chamber with warm water to remove salt bridges or clumps.
If E12 continues, the softener valve or regeneration sensor may be faulty and should be tested and replaced by a technician.
