Possible Causes

Open or shorted water inlet valve coil, Loose connector at inlet valve, Damaged wiring harness to valve, Control board driver fault

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power and turn off water supply.

  • 1. Access inlet valve: Remove the toe-kick panel to locate the water inlet valve at the front bottom of the dishwasher.
  • 2. Inspect wiring: Check the connector for corrosion or looseness. Reseat firmly.
  • 3. Test coil: With a multimeter, measure resistance across the valve coil. An open circuit or extremely low resistance indicates a bad valve.
  • 4. Replace valve: If defective, disconnect the water line and wiring, remove the mounting screws, and install a new Bertazzoni-compatible inlet valve.

If the valve tests good but E16 persists, the control board may not be energizing the valve correctly and should be checked by a technician.
