Possible Causes
Failed drying fan motor, Blocked vent duct, Faulty vent flap actuator, Wiring fault to fan assembly
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before accessing the door or side panels.
- 1. Confirm poor drying: At the end of the cycle, check if dishes are wet and the interior is cool. Listen for fan operation during the drying phase.
- 2. Access the fan: On many Bertazzoni dishwashers, the drying fan is located in the door or upper side panel. Remove the inner door panel screws to expose the fan assembly.
- 3. Inspect for obstructions: Check the vent duct and fan blades for lint, labels, or plastic wrap that may block airflow. Clean thoroughly.
- 4. Test the fan motor: With a multimeter, measure resistance across the fan motor terminals. An open circuit indicates a failed motor. Also inspect wiring for damage.
- 5. Vent flap: Ensure any mechanical vent flap moves freely and is not stuck closed.
If the fan and vent are functional but E8 persists, the control board output to the fan may be defective and should be diagnosed by a technician.
