Possible Causes
Defective power module (control board), Burnt relay on control board, Internal short on PCB, Overvoltage damage
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the dishwasher from mains power by switching off the circuit breaker and unplugging if accessible. Do not work on live circuits.
- Power reset: Turn off the breaker for 5–10 minutes, then restore power and try to start a cycle. Sometimes transient faults clear after a hard reset.
- Check supply voltage: Verify the outlet or junction box is supplying correct voltage (typically 120V or 230V depending on region). Low or fluctuating voltage can damage or confuse the control module.
- Inspect wiring to control module: Remove the inner door panel to access the control module (often in the top of the door on Bosch dishwashers). Check for burnt connectors, melted insulation, or loose plugs. Reseat all harness connectors firmly.
- Look for visible PCB damage: With the module exposed, inspect for burnt spots, bulging components, or corrosion. If present, the module should be replaced.
- Replacement: If E01 persists after reset and wiring checks, replace the power/control module with the correct Bosch part number for your model. Transfer any wiring one connector at a time to avoid miswiring.
- When to call a technician: If you are not comfortable testing live voltage or removing the door panel, contact a qualified Bosch service technician.
