Possible Causes
Open-circuit NTC sensor, Shorted NTC sensor, Corroded NTC connector, Damaged wiring harness to NTC
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker before accessing internal components.
- Access the NTC: On many Bosch dishwashers, the NTC is located in the sump area or integrated into the heat pump/flow heater assembly. Remove the toe-kick and possibly the left side panel to access it.
- Inspect connector: Check the NTC plug for moisture, corrosion, or loose pins. Dry any moisture and clean light corrosion with contact cleaner. Reseat the connector firmly.
- Test the NTC: Disconnect the sensor and measure its resistance at room temperature. Compare to Bosch specifications (commonly in the 10–60 kΩ range depending on type). If it reads open (infinite) or near 0 Ω, the sensor is defective.
- Check harness: Wiggle the harness while measuring continuity from the NTC connector to the control board plug. Replace or repair the harness if continuity is intermittent.
- Replace NTC: If the sensor is out of spec, replace it with the correct Bosch temperature sensor for your model. Ensure the sealing grommet is properly seated to prevent leaks.
