Possible Causes
Leak from sump seal, Leak from circulation pump, Cracked hose or clamp, Overfoaming causing water to spill into base
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and turn off the water supply. Be prepared for water spillage when moving the dishwasher.
- Pull out the dishwasher: Carefully slide the unit out from under the counter, protecting the floor.
- Inspect base pan: Tilt the dishwasher slightly backward to see if water drains from the base. If safe, you can carefully tip it about 45° to allow water to run out of the base pan (have towels ready). This may temporarily clear E15 but does not fix the leak source.
- Locate leak: Remove side panels and observe hoses, sump, circulation pump, and heat exchanger. Look for water trails, mineral deposits, or active drips.
- Check door seal and float gasket: Inspect the door gasket and bottom door seal for damage. Also check the float switch in the base for proper movement and dryness.
- Repair leak: Tighten or replace hose clamps, replace cracked hoses, or replace leaking components such as the sump assembly or circulation pump. Ensure all seals are correctly seated.
- Dry base thoroughly: Use towels and, if needed, a fan to dry the base pan and float switch area completely before reassembly.
