How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and be prepared for water spillage when removing the pump.
- Manually remove water: Use a cup or sponge to remove as much standing water from the tub as possible.
- Access drain pump: Remove the toe-kick and possibly tilt the dishwasher to access the drain pump mounted to the sump.
- Inspect for blockage: Remove the pump from the sump and check the impeller area for glass, bones, or other debris. Clear any obstruction.
- Test pump motor: Measure resistance across the pump terminals. An open circuit indicates a failed motor. Also check for signs of overheating or burning.
- Replace drain pump: If the motor is defective or noisy, install a new Bosch drain pump. Ensure the seal is properly seated to prevent leaks.
