Possible Causes

Closed or low-pressure water supply tap, Clogged inlet hose filter at aqua-stop, Defective water inlet valve, Faulty flow meter or pressure sensor

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the dishwasher or switch off the circuit breaker and close the water supply tap before working on the appliance.

  • 1. Check household water supply: Ensure the water tap feeding the Brandt dishwasher is fully open and that there is adequate water pressure. Straighten any kinks in the inlet hose.
  • 2. Clean inlet hose filter: Close the tap, unscrew the inlet hose from the tap and from the dishwasher aqua-stop end (if fitted). Remove and rinse the small mesh filters under running water to remove limescale or debris, then reinstall.
  • 3. Inspect aqua-stop / inlet valve: Check the aqua-stop housing and the inlet valve at the base of the machine for signs of burning, cracking, or blockage. If the coil is open-circuit or the valve is stuck closed, replace the water inlet valve / aqua-stop hose assembly.
  • 4. Check flow meter / pressure sensor (advanced): On some Brandt models a flow meter or pressure sensor in the side water matrix (water softener / distribution chamber) monitors fill. If the dishwasher still shows E1 after cleaning filters and confirming water pressure, the sensor or control board may be faulty and should be tested and replaced by a qualified technician.
