Dishwasher overfills with water, may leak from the door or into the base tray and shows E4.

Safety first: Unplug the dishwasher and close the water tap immediately to prevent flooding. Mop up any spilled water.

• 1. Check for water in base tray: Remove the toe-kick panel and inspect the base. If water is present, the safety float switch will trigger E4. Carefully sponge out all water and dry the area.
• 2. Inspect for leaks: Run a short cycle while observing the base (with panels removed) to identify leaks from the door seal, hoses, circulation pump, or water matrix. Repair or replace the leaking component.
• 3. Clean pressure chamber / air trap: On many Brandt models, a side water matrix and pressure chamber control water level. Remove and flush these parts with hot water to clear grease and limescale that can trap air and misread the level.
• 4. Test pressure switch: Locate the pressure switch connected by a small hose to the sump or air trap. Check the hose for blockages or splits. Gently blow through the hose to clear it. If the switch does not click or shows incorrect continuity when pressure is applied, replace it.
• 5. Check inlet valve: If water continues to enter even when the machine is off, the inlet valve is stuck open and must be replaced immediately.
