Dishwasher displays E9 and may stop during drying or final rinse, often with cold dishes.

Safety first: Disconnect mains power. Drying components can be hot; allow the machine to cool before servicing.

• 1. Confirm symptom: Run a program with drying enabled. If dishes are consistently wet and E9 appears, suspect the drying system.
• 2. Access drying unit: Remove the top and/or side panels to access the drying fan and heater assembly, usually located on the side or top of the tub.
• 3. Inspect fan and ducts: Check that the fan blades are not obstructed by insulation or debris. Clean any lint or grease from the air ducts.
• 4. Test fan motor and heater: Measure resistance of the fan motor and heater element. Replace the assembly if either is open-circuit or shows signs of burning.
• 5. Check wiring and control board: Inspect connectors and wiring to the drying unit. If power is not supplied during the drying phase despite correct components, the control board relay may be faulty and the board may need replacement.
