Possible Causes
Door or hood not fully closed, Door interlock switch misaligned, Cycle not properly reset, Faulty start button or keypad
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before adjusting switches or panels.
Enabling cycle start:
- Verify door closure: Ensure the Champion door or hood is fully closed and latched. Listen for the click of the interlock switch.
- Check door switch: Test the door interlock switch for continuity when closed. Replace if it does not change state.
- Reset the machine: Turn the power off for 30 seconds, then back on. Some models require pressing a reset or cancel button before starting a new cycle.
- Test start button: If using a membrane keypad, test for response of other buttons. If only the start button fails, the keypad may need replacement.
When to call a technician: If all safety switches test good and the control still will not start a cycle, the control board may be faulty.
