Possible Causes
Empty detergent container, Blocked detergent suction line, Failed detergent dosing pump, Faulty signal from control board to dispenser
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Wear appropriate chemical-resistant gloves and eye protection when handling detergents and rinse aids.
Corrective actions:
- Verify chemical supply: Check that the Champion-approved detergent container is not empty and that the pickup tube is fully submerged.
- Inspect suction and discharge tubing: Look for kinks, air leaks, or crystallized detergent in the tubing. Replace hardened or cracked tubes. Prime the line by allowing detergent to flow until free of air bubbles.
- Test detergent pump: Activate the detergent prime function (if available) or run a cycle while monitoring the pump. Listen for motor operation. If silent, test for voltage at the pump terminals during dosing. Replace the pump if it receives power but does not run.
- Check injection fitting: Ensure the injection point into the Champion wash tank or line is not blocked with scale or chemical buildup. Clean or replace the injector fitting.
- Verify control signal: If the pump never receives a signal, inspect wiring from the control board and confirm programming parameters for detergent dosing are correct.
When to call a technician: If the control logic or external chemical controller is suspected, a qualified technician or chemical supplier should be consulted.
