Possible Causes

Incorrect detergent type (non-commercial or high-foam), Overdosing of detergent, Rinse aid over-concentration, Low water hardness causing high foam

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power if foam threatens to overflow. Avoid adding random chemicals to counteract foam.

Corrective actions:

  • Verify detergent type: Ensure only Champion-approved low-foam commercial dishwasher detergent is used. Replace any household or high-foam products.
  • Adjust detergent dosing: If using an automatic dispenser, reduce the detergent pump setting according to the chemical supplier’s recommendations.
  • Check rinse aid concentration: Excessive rinse aid can contribute to foaming. Reduce the rinse aid pump rate and observe results.
  • Drain and refill: Drain the wash tank completely, clean the tank, and refill with fresh water to remove residual foam and chemicals.
  • Water hardness: If water is very soft, consult your chemical supplier or Champion documentation for recommended dosing adjustments.

When to call a technician: If E13 persists despite correct chemicals and dosing, the chemical controller or sensors may require professional calibration.
