Possible Causes

Leaking door gasket, Cracked wash tank or sump, Loose hose clamp on pump or drain, Faulty or overfilled chemical injection point

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power and close water supply. Use caution when working around standing water and electrical components.

Leak investigation:

  • Inspect base pan: Remove the lower access panel and check the base pan for water. Mop up all water and locate the leak source while refilling.
  • Check door gasket: Examine the Champion door or hood gasket for tears, flattening, or gaps. Replace if worn or damaged.
  • Inspect hoses and clamps: Follow all internal hoses from the pump, heater, and drain connections. Tighten loose clamps and replace cracked hoses.
  • Examine tank and sump: Look for cracks, pinholes, or corrosion at welds and seams. Small leaks may show as mineral tracks. Repair or replace the tank/sump as needed.
  • Reset leak float: Ensure the base pan float switch moves freely and is not stuck in the up position. After drying and fixing leaks, reset the machine and test.

When to call a technician: Structural tank leaks or inaccessible hose connections may require professional service.
