• Inspect for moisture: Remove the front control panel cover. Look for condensation, detergent residue, or water tracks on the keypad and PCB. Dry thoroughly with a lint-free cloth and allow to air dry completely.
• Check ribbon cable and connectors: Reseat the keypad ribbon cable and any harness connectors to the Champion control board. Ensure they are fully inserted and free of corrosion.
• Test keypad buttons: With power restored, test each button individually. If certain keys do not respond or trigger other functions, the membrane keypad is likely faulty and should be replaced.
• Inspect control PCB: Look for burned components, cracked solder joints, or swollen capacitors on the main board. If visible damage is present, replace the control PCB with the correct Champion part number.
