Possible Causes

Failed rinse pump motor, Defective rinse solenoid valve, Blocked rinse line or injector, Faulty rinse pump relay

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power and close the rinse water supply. Hot water and chemicals may be present in the rinse circuit.

Steps to diagnose:

  • Check rinse water supply: Ensure the dedicated rinse line to the Champion dishwasher is open and at the correct pressure.
  • Inspect rinse pump: Access the rinse pump assembly. Check for leaks, corrosion, or seized shaft. Rotate the shaft by hand if possible. If seized or noisy, replace the pump.
  • Test rinse solenoid valve: Locate the rinse solenoid. With power off, measure coil resistance. An open coil indicates failure. Also inspect the internal screen for debris and clean as needed.
  • Verify rinse line and injector: Remove the rinse arm and injector nozzles. Clean scale and debris from all orifices. Flush the rinse line.
  • Check pump relay/contactor: In the control panel, verify that the rinse pump relay energizes during the rinse phase. Replace if defective.

When to call a technician: If electrical diagnostics are inconclusive or if the control board is suspected, professional service is recommended.
