Possible Causes
Overheating wash pump motor, Loose electrical connection causing arcing, Foreign object on heating element, Melted plastic items contacting heater
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Immediately switch off power at the mains and do not continue using the machine until the cause is identified.
- Inspect interior: Once cooled, open the door and check for plastic items fallen onto the tank heater or touching hot surfaces. Remove any deformed items.
- Check wiring for overheating: Remove panels and inspect wiring looms, especially around the wash pump, heaters, and control PCB. Look for discolored insulation or burnt connectors. Repair or replace as needed.
- Assess motor temperature: If the wash pump casing is extremely hot and there is a burnt smell from the motor, the pump may be overloaded or failing. Replace the pump.
- Do not bypass safety devices: If thermostats or thermal cut‑outs have tripped, investigate the root cause rather than bypassing them.
