Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the dishwasher from mains power and close the water supply tap before working on it.
- Check water supply: Verify the building water supply is on and that the Comenda dishwasher’s dedicated shutoff valve under the sink or in the plant room is fully open.
- Inspect inlet hose and filter: Turn off water, disconnect the inlet hose from the rear of the dishwasher or wall tap. Remove and clean the small mesh filter inside the hose connection using a soft brush. Rinse thoroughly and reinstall.
- Check for hose kinks: Ensure the blue or grey inlet hose is not kinked or crushed behind the machine or under cabinetry.
- Test the inlet valve: With power off, access the base panel, locate the water inlet solenoid valve assembly, and check the coil connectors are firmly seated. If you have a multimeter, measure coil resistance; an open circuit usually indicates a failed valve that must be replaced.
- Check level sensor: On models with a pressure switch or flow meter, inspect the small pressure hose for blockages or kinks. Clean any scale or debris from the air trap on the side of the tank.
- Reset and test: Restore power and water, then run a short cycle to see if the E1 code clears.
If the dishwasher still shows E1 after these checks, the inlet valve or level sensor circuit may require professional diagnosis.
