Possible Causes
Failed boiler NTC sensor, Loose or corroded sensor connector, Damaged sensor cable, Faulty control board input
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate power and allow the boiler to cool completely before working on it.
- Access boiler sensor: Remove the side or top panel to reach the boiler. Locate the NTC probe screwed into the boiler shell.
- Inspect wiring: Check the sensor cable for heat damage or rubbing against sharp edges. Repair or replace as needed.
- Test sensor: Disconnect the sensor and measure resistance at ambient temperature. Compare with the manufacturer’s chart. Replace if open, shorted, or far out of tolerance.
- Check connector: Clean any oxidation from the connector pins and reseat firmly.
If a new sensor does not resolve E14, the control board may be defective.
