Possible Causes
Blocked pressure chamber or air trap, Split or blocked pressure hose, Faulty water level pressure switch, Stuck inlet valve allowing water to pass when de-energized
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and close the water supply tap. Be prepared for water spillage.
- Remove excess water: If the tank is overfilled, manually bail out water with a container or use a wet vacuum.
- Clean pressure chamber: Locate the pressure chamber/air trap on the side of the tank. Remove the small hose and flush the chamber with hot water to remove grease and scale.
- Inspect pressure hose: Check the thin hose from the tank to the pressure switch for cracks, pinches, or blockages. Replace if hardened or damaged.
- Test pressure switch: With the hose removed, gently blow into the switch and listen for clicks. Use a multimeter to verify contact change when pressure is applied. Replace the switch if it does not operate correctly.
- Check inlet valve: Turn off water, disconnect the inlet hose, and inspect the valve. If water continues to flow through the valve when it is not energized (machine off), the valve is stuck open and must be replaced.
- Reassemble and test: Reconnect hoses securely, restore water and power, and run a test cycle to confirm normal filling.
