Possible Causes
Failed boiler heating element, Faulty boiler thermostat or NTC probe, Tripped high-limit safety thermostat, Defective boiler contactor or relay
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate power and allow the machine to cool. The boiler area can be extremely hot and under pressure.
- Check high-limit thermostat: Locate the manual reset safety thermostat on the boiler body. Press the reset button if present. If it trips repeatedly, investigate overheating causes.
- Inspect wiring and contactor: Open the electrical panel and check the boiler contactor/relay and wiring for signs of burning or loose connections. Tighten terminals as needed.
- Test boiler element: With power off and wires removed, measure resistance across the boiler heater terminals. An open circuit indicates a failed element that must be replaced.
- Check boiler NTC/thermostat: Inspect the temperature probe for scale buildup. Clean gently and test resistance against Comenda specifications. Replace if readings are out of range or intermittent.
- Verify supply voltage: Ensure the correct three-phase or single-phase supply is present at the boiler contactor when heating is requested.
Due to high power and pressure, boiler repairs are best handled by a qualified technician.
