Possible Causes

Seized circulation pump motor, Blocked wash pump impeller, Faulty pump capacitor (on single-phase models), Defective pump contactor or triac on control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power and allow the machine to cool before accessing internal components.

  • Check for obstructions: Remove tank filters and inspect the wash pump intake area. Remove any broken glass, cutlery, or debris that may jam the impeller.
  • Access the pump: Remove the lower front or side panel to reach the circulation pump. Try to rotate the impeller shaft by hand (with power off). If it is stiff or seized, the pump likely needs replacement.
  • Inspect capacitor: On single-phase Comenda dishwashers, locate the start/run capacitor mounted near the pump. Look for bulging or leakage. Replace if suspect.
  • Electrical tests: Use a multimeter to check continuity of the pump windings. An open circuit indicates a failed motor.
  • Control check: If the pump tests good but does not receive power during wash, the control board or contactor may be faulty and should be checked by a technician.
