Possible Causes
Misaligned door latch, Broken door microswitch, Damaged door hook or striker, Loose wiring to door switch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before adjusting mechanical parts.
- Inspect door alignment: Check that the door or hood closes evenly and that hinges are not bent. Adjust hinges or leveling feet so the door lines up with the cabinet.
- Check latch and striker: Examine the metal or plastic door hook and the striker plate on the cabinet. Tighten loose screws and replace worn or broken parts.
- Test door switch: Access the door interlock assembly behind the front panel. Manually operate the switch and listen for a clear click. Use a multimeter to verify continuity when the door is closed.
- Inspect wiring: Ensure the harness to the door switch is intact and firmly connected to the control board.
- Reset and test: After adjustments, restore power and attempt to start a cycle with the door firmly closed.
