Possible Causes

Loose harness between main PCB and display board, Faulty user interface PCB, Defective main control board, Moisture ingress into control area

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect the dishwasher from mains power before opening the control panel.

  • Power reset: Leave the machine unplugged or isolated for at least 5 minutes to allow capacitors to discharge, then reconnect and test.
  • Inspect control compartment: Remove the front control panel cover. Check for signs of moisture, corrosion, or detergent residue on the boards and connectors. Dry gently if damp.
  • Check connectors: Reseat all ribbon cables and harness plugs between the display board and main PCB. Ensure locking tabs are engaged.
  • Visual inspection: Look for burnt components or cracked solder joints on the boards. If present, the affected board should be replaced.
  • Environmental check: Ensure steam is not venting directly into the control area due to missing gaskets or seals; replace seals if damaged.

If E9 persists after reseating connectors, replacement of the user interface or main control board is usually required.
