Safety Warning
This repair may involve working with high voltage components or water connections. Always unplug the appliance before removing any panels.
If you are not confident in your ability to perform this repair safely, we strongly recommend contacting a professional technician.
Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and close the water tap before opening any panels.
- 1. Reset the appliance: Turn the dishwasher off, wait 5 minutes, then turn it back on and try a short program. Sometimes a transient error clears.
- 2. Check water pressure and filters: As with E02, verify the tap is fully open and the inlet filter screen is clean. Low flow can cause the flow meter to misread.
- 3. Inspect side water matrix / heat exchanger: On many Constructa models, a transparent plastic water matrix (heat exchanger) is mounted on the left side. Remove the left side panel and look for heavy limescale or sludge blocking the channels. If clogged, the flow meter may not detect proper flow.
- 4. Clean the matrix (if accessible): Carefully disconnect the unit (have towels ready), flush it with warm water and a descaling solution, then rinse thoroughly. Refit all hoses securely.
- 5. Wiring check: Locate the small flow sensor (often a reed switch or Hall sensor) attached to the water matrix. Ensure its connector is firmly seated and wires are not damaged.
When to call a technician: If E03 persists after cleaning and checking water supply, the flow meter or control module may need replacement and should be diagnosed with proper test equipment.
